Log an error with its cause when switching to the old evaluator.

This way, users will get real evaluation results (albeit at a slower pace sometimes), as well as have means to report new evaluator errors.

As a minor bonus goes one less usage of a registry key -- aspects of certain evaluators (what files to compile and what codegen to use) are now combined in one place.
